Why Do People Come to Therapy?
People come to therapy seeking relief from pain and discomfort. Discomfort may take the form of problematic relationships with others, depression, anxiety, or other psychological issues. People also come to therapy seeking relief from physical symptoms- somatic markers of psychological distress, such as headaches, pain, gastro-intestinal disturbances and other symptoms that may be medically unexplained.
