Meet Donna

Psychotherapist & Nurse
I am a Montreal-based Psychotherapist and a Nurse. I am a member in good standing of the Ordre des Psychologues du Quebec and the Ordre des Infirmieres at Infirmiers du Quebec.
I have decades of experience in nursing, nursing education, and psychotherapy. I hold a Masters degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Nursing. I am also a graduate of the Individual Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program at the Argyle Institute of Human Relations, where I was a clinical member for many years. I am currently enrolled in the Washington School of Psychiatry in the Intensive Short Term Psychotherapy Program.
My approach to therapy is to deal with what is at the root of the problem and to do so as efficiently as possible. I believe that therapy should yield results.
My work is psychodynamic in nature which operates on the premise that the unconscious part of the mind influences thoughts, emotions and behavior. This process often involves looking at past experiences, including childhood experiences.
My work is informed by a model known as ISTDP (Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy) which has been found to be very effective in treating a wide range of problems such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, physical symptoms, low self -esteem and self -defeating behavior patterns.
At this time, I am working remotely online and not seeing clients in person.
